NTUC Good Start Bundle 2019

So like any kiasu opportunistic mother, I signed up for the NTUC Good Start Bundle. For those who don't know, all families with Singapore citizen babies born between 2016 and 2019 are eligible to receive their goodies. (Find out more at https://ntucgoodstart.sg/) I think parents can still apply and who knows there will be a 2020 Bundle, eh?

I believe there are items that were interchangeable based on availability like the toys and books but the base items were always the same. For 2019, if parents attended the Embracing Parenthood event (based on their website; and you can still receive the goodies if you don't attend but with lesser items), they will receive:

➼ FairPrice Fairmaly Kit worth 100SGD
which consists of brown rice, formula milk and other baby and mommy related items.
➼ Complimentary one-year health insurance coverage by UIncome
➼ Complimentary Plus! Card for non Plus! members
➼ Complimentary entry to the Little Skool-House Early Literacy Centre worth 180SGD
➼ Early Experiences Matter by NTUC First Campus Parent-Child Activity Book

I signed up in 2018 a few months after Sarah was born. I couldn't remember when but I received the FairPrice Fairmaly Kit through the mail. They gave me a voucher which I had to redeem from my nearest FairPrice Supermarket. It was definitely heavy mostly from the brown rice. I received a voucher to redeem formula milk which I didn't claim at all since I breastfed Sarah. There were powdered milk for mommies, wet wipes and other baby product samples.

Eventually, an invitation to attend the Embracing Parenthood came and the CC people even visited to encourage a visit. I did intended to but unfortunately, on the event day on January, I got really sick. I thought, surely kena burn. Oh well.

Fast forward to July 2019, I received a letter saying that I still can collect my NTUC Good Start Bundle lah! Hooray! I just had to visit my CC to collect which I finally did! This is what I collected from the CC.

A Play.Bond.Grow package which consists of:
➼ Skip Hop Bandana Buddies Activity Animal
➼ My Little Book of Values and Animal Finger Puppets
➼ 'Moments' Envelope Album

A NTUC package consisting of:
➼  Complimentary one-year health insurance coverage by UIncome
➼ An 'Early Experiences Matter' parent-child activity book
➼ Sock Puppet craft
➼ Bag it came in. I just wanted to mention it because the bag is pretty decent. Can put clothes or extra diapers in it. haha

All in all, the items were pretty decent. I think for most parents, they truly aim for the FairPrice 100SGD family kit which to be honest, minus the expensive formula milk, there's nothing much left. Sarah loves the finger puppets but after a while, I see her being more fascinated by the cardboard hand that serves as the puppets' holder. haha So was it worth it? It really depends on each family. For me, can collect, collect ajeeeeeee....
