Jhon and I were actually pretty happy and excited for this year's Hari Raya because this year, we have Sarah! I remembered last year, we kinda used Hari Raya as a pregnancy reveal to my relatives. This year, Sarah was turning 9 months old, all big and cute to wear kids' baju kurung!
It was the usual routine, Mak came over to our place and have all the guests visit our home for Hari Raya. But first, take ALL the photos! hehe
Sarah looked absolutely cute in her hand me down baju kurung from Nadya. She was also in a good mood with all kinds of expressions. Everything was going well. We ate Hari Raya food and binge watch whatever that was on TV.
After Friday prayers and before the guests arrived, we did the maaf-maafan part first. Look at that little girl, probably wondering what was going on. haha
Sarah with her favorite Uncle Jamil. He is the only other person who she allows to hold, carry and
Everything went well until afternoon and guests came by.
Sighs.
I don't wish to indulge on the details but all I can say was shit hit the fan and it officially became a horrible Hari Raya for us.I don't think Sarah would remember anything (until she reads this and asked me about it haha) but she took the situation really well. Even though she was tired and hungry, she waited for me patiently to be available for her.
Among all the things I was glad she inherited (if it was even possible), it was Jhon's absolute patience.
When everything was settling down, we had to salvage what was left of the celebration especially when we had more guests.
Let's move on to a light-hearted note like these 2 with their yearly pose. haha
You see, I was not kidding when I said Sarah was awesome that day. It's a big deal for her to want to sit on other people's lap, hokay? haha
Managed to get it! All cucu Pak Rahim & Cik Normah in one photo.
You have no idea how hard it is for all these kids to be together while all dressed up.
If you had read my previous post, now we have 1 more boy to add in this group.
Our evening guests!
Thank you for coming!
And that was our first Shawal with Sarah. Sucks in some ways but it was what it was.
