Museum Hopping (Part 1)

Jhon and I visited Singapore National Museum to watch Quest for Immortality - The World of Ancient Egypt and 'The Body Show’. A Rare Inside Look At The Human Anatomy at Clark Quay in just one day and it was really tiring from all the walking but it was worth it!

We started the day early and had a KFC breakfast.

Our first stop was the National Museum, we also had a little detour and took a few pictures. hehe

When we first entered the the exhibit, we turned left and went to the kiddy activity corner and had a little fun with it. We did origami, played games and did some puzzle work. An obnoxious family was there to judge us on our light-heart fun and it was very irritating but who cares! I pity her children who was taught it a way that everything has to be serious!

Anyways, look at my Picasso Pyramid against Jhon's boring perfect one.

When we entered the actual exhibition, we wee greeted by a brief history of Egypt and some beautiful sculptures and busts.

Along the path, you won't miss a giant lion-god sitting to greet you.

Along with several magnificent sculptures of Kings and an elephant.

yes, an elephant. this is the first time i saw a sculpture of an elephant from the Egyptians. Too bad one of its prominent part is gone.

A King and Falcon-head God

More sculptures with mummified cat.

and check out this crocrodile!

These are fake doors that acts as a door for the spirits

Mummies, coffins and more more more!

We spent 2 hours in the museum learning and taking shots of the exhibit. We were most awed by the craftsmanship and detail. After looking at these artifacts up close, we have new found respect for the Egyptians and their quest for perfection.

We were dead tired after that so we took some rest and had a Swensons lunch.

and off to our next stop, 'The Body Show’. A Rare Inside Look At The Human Anatomy at Clark Quay which i will continue on the next blog.

P/s: Do you know if you are f*cking rich, you can actually buy any of these artifacts?! I WANT!!
