Life with Nur Sarah (Month 8)

Did you missed it?

Sarah's 8th month main photo was a little special because it was taken when Jhon and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary.

Sarah has been more active as ever as she truly enjoys going out and experience everything. She has always been a joy and still is.

Of course, after getting back from the staycation, Sarah had mild fever. It was most probably from the damp weather but as usual, she bounced back pretty well.

Sarah with Silly Syihab. haha Say that a few more times faster. Sarah interacted with kids better than adults. With that said, she was also picking up and studying the other kids' antics too. I dread her picking up the bad stuff, though.

I love the cuddles when she's asleep.

Sleep deprivation was still a thing although I do get random good ones once in a while.

At this age, she recognizes the front facing camera well so it's easy to get her to smile at the camera. She loves to see her reflection. I did wondered if she knew it was her or she thought it's another baby.

One day, as we were looking at the mirror, I made a face. She looked at my reflection and then at me which means she knows it was the same me. But another day, while she was holding minyak Telon, and looking at the mirror, she attempted to massage the ointment on her belly but on the mirror. haha

This is also the time I am starting to gain more weight. SIGH! I thought I managed to stabilize it at first but nope!

I don't know if you can see here but Sarah also got her first bump. I know, annoying right? First bump also must record, could be first-kid syndrome. haha But I actually was proud lah that Sarah survived quite a while before getting hurt. I know some babies tend to get hurt way earlier. She got this from crawling over zealously.

We celebrated Mother's Day at McDonalds. haha Okay, we just happened to have breakfast at McD and the auntie gave us Mother's Day card that you can turn into a paper flower. Sarah also got a balloon. Of course, she prefers the paper.

Sarah and her sleeping dust. This was our savior for a a few months to make her sleep easier.

My mini boss. I tell, ya, the this 5in1 Combie was one of the best gift. We would've bought one if Mak didn't intended to buy for us. Of course, I would've chosen the cheaper version, Puku but she insisted. I placed a swaddle cloth over it so I don't have to wash the seat often. haha

It's way easier to shop with her in the shopping cart. She was so cute, all well-behaved and was a in good mood. I remember one of my fond childhood memories when it comes to shopping in NTUC was either sitting in the shopping cart or standing on the front part of the cart.

Since Sarah was older, Jhon had started to bring us to leceh places to go to check out bike stuff again. It's actually not so bad because sometime he brings me to places I've never been before. I just couldn't tahan when it's way too hot and the places he takes us tends to require a lot of walking which is not fun with a kid.

Mother's day officially arrived so I asked Mak out for her favorite kind of outing, food and shopping. I've posted about this outing in this link.

Ayah had knee surgery and we paid him a visit. Before doing so, we had an early lunch and we happened to sit right underneath the aircon. After we were done with the meal, we could tell Sarah was feeling down and cold. I didn't bring her jacket so we use the swaddle cloth to cover her. She looked so sad but cute. haha

I've started part-time working now, mostly moderating the company's IG's account. If you follow in my IG, you probably can guess what company it is. haha I was glad that at least I have a small amount of dough coming in. Jhon has been very supportive in every aspects but of course, more money is more money.

Sarah with Mak Ngah. She was confused and acting cool here. 1 minute later, she whined for me.

Is your baby is so clingy that she turns you into a chair?
Who am I kidding? I am a lounging chair at this moment. Pfftt..

Sarah was showing signs of improvement in terms of stranger anxiety although she cry after a while. I hope she gets over it soon though. Of course, as I am writing this almost 4 months later, I can tell you, it didn't.

2nd Year Wedding Anniversary Staycation

On 23 April 2018 was my wedding anniversary with Jhon. Last year, we celebrated while I was pregnant so naturally, my baby was already out to spend time with us. haha

It seems it has become a tradition now; staycations for our anniversary and I'm not complaining. This year, we spent the night at Changi Village Hotel. It's the perfect place because it's near the beach, near array of restaurants (one of which was our favorite, Tang Tea House) and their pool was decent with a pretty good view.

The manager was also nice enough to upgrade us to a nice sea view with balcony. Ooh! Another plus point, bathtubs! It makes easy bath time for Sarah and for me to soak for 30-45 minutes. haha

One of the things that make me feel excited for this outing was that I wanted to take 8 month old Sarah to the beach officially for sand & grass sensory! I wouldn't be surprised if she was scared of the feeling of grass and sand but I've been training her. I let her step on all kinds of things at home from carpets, door mats and such.

Anyways, to be honest, the room in Changi Village Hotel is not exactly top notch and new but it was still comfortable and clean which is way more important. Look at our view from our balcony! To be honest, we wished we had stayed 1 more night longer. hurhur

It was a drizzling day but not bad enough to ruin our day.
When we reached the beach, I was mentally prepared for Sarah to be upset or even cry when she stepped on the grass. Mind you, she was also sleepy.

To our surprise, she was okay! It took her a minute to check out the situation and surroundings and for all we knew, she started to walk along the beach! She even laughed with glee and we were so happy. haha We had also a video of this outing so watch my video at the end of the post.

Of course, the next step was the grass.
The video still tells all, don't you think? She was so excited and happy walking on the grass. Perhaps it was ticklish but I was just glad that I had trained her well enough at home. haha

It started to drizzle a little more so we had to take shelter in a nearby cabana. It didn't dampen Sarah though.

When the rain subsided, we did our first attempt at a family photo shoot. It didn't go as well because there was no one trying to get Sarah's attention to look at the camera and it was just generally challenging. But hey, I think we managed to get a few good shots.

This would've been a good shot too but Sarah got hungry, therefore, cranky.

After her feed and quick nap, we bought dinner and ended the day in the hotel.

The next day, of course we went to the swimming pool. It's a must go because it had a pretty decent view! The ambiance was chill and beautiful.

This was Sarah's 2nd water play but first time in the pool.
It took a while for her to figure out a gigantic bathtub with strangers but eventually, she was splashing all over the place.

We absolutely had a great time and I can't deny that I caught the staycation bug.
