Super Hero Birthday Party

This party was taken on December last year. Yes, I don't know when I will ever manage to catch up to present. haha Anyways, we were invited to Wati's kids birthday party. Sarah was only 3 months old and we were still trying to slowly introduce Sarah to the outside world; mostly to people and sounds.

When we arrived, Sarah slept for a while and actually did quite well throughout the party even though it was very noisy with the big group of kids.

Fizah and Matin was also there so it was nice to have a quick catch-up. Now that both of us have kids, it's extra hard to meet up. Perhaps when Sarah is big enough, we can do play dates. hehe

It was also nice to meet up with all my ex-school mates. I was the last one to have a kid among the group. Hidayah is already with her fourth kid! I had plenty of catching up to do. haha Cerita kelakar seram.

Aida's daughter, Mia was cute. She seems to be quite a social butterfly, talking and playing with us.

I almost forgot what made Fizah laughed in this then I remembered, Sarah was snuggling looking for boobies! hahaha

With almost all the kids! So cute and fun! Unfortunately, I missed this because I was nursing Sarah in the room. This makes me wonder if I will have birthday parties for Sarah.

Thank you to Wati & Adi for having us!
I am so envious of Wati, 33 with 3 kids and still look pretty.

Nice catching up, guys! It was fun!
Bila lagi? =P

Life with Sarah (Month 3)

Did you missed it?

Sarah had moved on from Newborn to Infant stage!

And on her birthday, she went for her 3 month jab. haha

My botak baby girl! Did I mentioned that it turned out that she had cradle cap? After almost a week of coconut oil massages, it went away. So remember, it's good to shave baby's head for the hidden cradle cap. I think that's why some mommies who share how their baby would have cradle cap at a later age but perhaps it was there all along.

But be prepared for a potential hair grown in patches though. It's normal because of pillow friction. Eventually that patch would grown albeit slowly.

Precious moments with Daddy.

Erm.. yea... Sarah is VERY expressive like her mom. haha

After a few at home trials with Sarah in our Cybex First Go carrier, I eventually had the guts to go out alone with Sarah. Erm... only to meet Jhon at the MRT station after work. haha

Yea, Jhon is carrying Sarah way too low but don't worry, we got better at baby wearing now. hehe

Sometime during the month, we had our first kid's birthday party to attend. It was hosted by Wati and Adi in Punggol. Which reminded me, I did not blog about it at all. haha Will do so after this post.

In summary, we had a nice time lah. Sejak bila aku ni sociable mama pun tak tahu.
I think it's just maternal instincts kicking in making me more sociable?
The place was rowdy with plenty of kids but Sarah did well.

She learned to flip at this stage. She still dislikes tummy time so she will only do so on HER terms. Attitude sey. But as long as we know she can, we are happy. It's just a matter of does she want to?

Her head looked so big here and so boyish. haha I kinda can't wait for her hair to grow longer so she looks more feminine. Bluek.

A random not in a mood shot. Always happy je, once in a while, crying shot. haha
We had to attend to another wedding. Jhon's colleagues (my ex-colleagues), got to see her, especially Kak Yati. We both had borderline separation anxiety while she took her away. Luckily, she didn't take very far. haha Meanwhile, we just kept turning around making sure Sarah was in sight.

Mak and occasionally the boys would come over to visit so it was nice to have company (and more food).

I hate it that the shot is blur but it's too precious to delete.

Better.

Another wedding! That's why Sarah is always in pretty dresses this month which I am not complaining. hehe It was my cousin's wedding so my relatives got to see Sarah and Sarah also got to see her cousin who is only 1 month older.

When we see 2 babies of similar age, don't we wonder if they can baby talk and understand each other?

At this point, I was gaining weight again due to not eating confinement food anymore. On top of that, I was munching on lactation cookies and craving for anything sweet! I can tell you, I was on the path of destruction but I didn't care.

Jhon placed this on Sarah and she just stayed still. haha

And lastly, MY precious moments with Sarah.
She is at the age when she responds well. She would stare, smile and even laugh which is one of my favorite milestone.

Life with Sarah (Month 2)

Did you missed it?
Life with Nur Sarah (0-1 Month), (Month 1)

Sarah at 2 months old.
Weee!!

I remembered that I had crocheted her shoes and let her wear it. It was just nice for her. Any later, I don't think she could wear it.

This was the first time Sarah had a random middle of the night wake up. She woke up at 4am with the biggest smile as she wriggled about. We groaned but how can we resist that smile? I just love that Sarah is so expressive because I know I am too. I told Sarah that we can annoy Daddy together. haha

Luckily, she didn't stay awake very long. After 45 minutes, she went back to sleep.

She looked 'sebiji' like Jayden here.

After 2 months, finally had a decent photo with Sarah. This was us at Pasir Ris to collect my lactation cookies. I just let Jhon lead the way since he has better sense of direction then me.

At this point, I just can't help obsessing over her nose bridge and eye lashes.

On 29th October, Sarah had her cukur rambut and tahnik which I've blogged about so feel free to read about the ceremony and all that jazz.

My baby dah botak! the haircut made her look rounder and yes, more boyish. haha

Sarah was on and off on pacifier as she was not a fan of it or don't know how to keep it in her mouth. I was not a fan of giving her pacifier but Mak insist as it help to soothe her faster but in the end, Sarah had the final say. No to pacifiers.

Pak Hitam and family was so funny. He came over one week after Sarah's ceremony. He called us when we were out doing errands. It became a dinner get together with jalan-jalan at Changi Airport. This is the furthest and longest Sarah had been and as expected, she was over stimulated and got cranky. I had no choice because it was truly rare to go out with my relatives out of family obligations.

Jhon and I did got all flustered because we felt helpless. At this point, she was more on BM DL than FM and I felt the older folk seemed to not care much on us trying to soothe Sarah. They are not used to a newborn baby needing constant comfort because that was probably long time ago.

Obligatory sleeping with Daddy shot.
Actually right, we still have not decided what Sarah should call us.
We would call ourselves as Mommy and Daddy when speaking to her but I would tell her to say Mama and Dada. Jhon once in a while would say he wants to be called Papa.
So don't know lah. Let Sarah decide. hahaha

Over sized hand me down jacket which eventually returned to original owner.

This outfit caught plenty of attention saying she was cute but I think it's mostly because of the jacket being too big for her. haha

This Mommy was a book worm so kinda expected to have me passing this passion to her.
Books among other things received by National Library Board for freeeeeee for all babies!

My clingy baby.
It's tiring but I love it because I know she is getting bigger and bigger and I know for sure I will miss these precious moments. Sarah had not stay through the night with intervals of sleeping hours of 2-3 hours. It was a love-hate relationship because if she sleeps longer, I get proper sleep but at the same time, engorgement!

There was 1 time, she slept for more than 4 hours and I'm like staring at her while panicking because I was rock solid. I had a manual pump but it was barely helping.

For the first 2 months, the time seems fast and slow at the same time.
