Improve Your Beauty From The Inside - AVALON™ Stem Cell Beauty Drink (Promotion + Giveaway)

Our youth is definitely one of the things we take for granted. It's those kinds of things we just ignore and before we know it, we see lines creeping up on us, skin gets dull and skin is not as firm as before. This is because once we reach adulthood, most of our cells stop growing except our skin cells. The cycle of cell production and replacement takes about 28 days, skin cells die, slough off, and are replaced by new skin cells, however the process slows down with age. Our skin cells needs nutrients to grow, when they receive little nutrients the entire cell renewal process slows down resulting in appearance of various skin problems.

Basically, as we get older, we need 'fertilizer' for your skin.  So, once in a while, we buy that facial cream or moisturizer in attempt to delay the aging process but a'las, consistency is hard when results are barely noticeable.

Hey, I am guilty of this too and being 32 years old, I really need to buck up and hope to find that 'miracle' product.

Well, search no more because the AVALON Stem Cell Beauty Drink may be the one for you (and me). We tend to forget or perhaps always disregard that what we put in our body really effects our exterior. So as much cream and lotions you put on your face can help, the real magic is within.

Before you freak out about stem cells and think about human stem cells, don't worry. They are simply referring to stem cells from an orchid flower. As beautiful the flowers are, they are also beneficial in other ways too. Orchids were used to promote good health and cure diseases by the ancient Chinese, ancient Aztecs brewed a strength potion from its flowers to obtain power over their enemies, Europeans used it in Love potions and the Greeks used it for fertility.

AVALON™ Stem Cell Beauty Drink is the first beauty drink in Singapore that contains Young Orchid Stem Cells. Enhanced with Cell Young ® Orchid Stem Cell, Premium French Marine Collagen, Acerola Cherry, Litchi Seed Extract, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Olive Extract, Citric Acid, White Grape Juice, Litchi Juice, Apple Juice and Sparkling Water, it can resolve 6 major skin problems with just one product!

I know you may be thinking, how does it fare with other beauty drinks? It does not even have collagen or you are taking collagen supplements so this is redundant.

As much as collagen is one of the important factors in skin care, it is NOT THE ONLY key factor needed because you need to key in healthy skin cells too. There is no point when you have damaged skins cells because it may not able to absorb nutrients such as collagen, vitamins and such. Plus, on average, each person requires up to 2000mg to 5000mg of collagen every day, anything more is waste as our body is unable to absorb. So what's the point of having collagen in everything when your body has a limit?

Orchid Stem Cell is a powerful antioxidant and possesses strong anti-inflammatory properties, particularly young orchid stem cells protect the skin from environmental damages while hydrating and renewing our skin cells thus making it an excellent youth revitaliser which works on almost all skin types.

Compared to other beauty drinks, the consistency and taste does deem superior. Due to the sparkling water and fruity taste, it's definitely easier to swallow. With that said, in my honest opinion, it's still no soda water that we love to enjoy. But which consumables that is good for you are a joy to take anyways? Plus, after a while, you would be probably get used to the taste like I did eventually. Here's a pro tip: Drink it chilled.

In 7 days it claims you can feel your skin being more supple and hydrated, and in 28 days (Our skin renews itself every 28 days) you can see your skin tone brightens up looking more radiant, pores appears to be tighter, wrinkles and fine lines will also look lighter now that your skin is more supple.

I've tried this for 6 days before bedtime as recommended as I click Publish today and the results?

 Rejuvenated? 20% improvement.
Wrinkles & Fine Lines reduced? No Change
Firmer & Elastic? 10% improvement
Brighter? 10% improvement
Pores Tighten? 30% improvement
Moisturized? 40% improvement

There are minor improvements and obviously maintenance is needed (1 bottle every alternate days after 1 week of drinking) and in the long period, there will be more visible results. To see some improvements in less than a week is actually quite amazing.

Note that again, just 1 thing can't carry the heavy load of improving your skin or anything for that matter. You have to also practice good skin care routine, drink plenty of water and eat healthy on top of the beauty drink or any other supplements.

Baby Talk

Before any of you get excited, no, I am not pregnant but I decided to document anything that is brought up leading to it, InsyaAllah. This is an open journal after all.

As much as my wedding internal ticking clock was delayed, it goes pretty much the same with my maternal ticking clock. Don't get me wrong, I love kids and I've been taking care of them once in a while in the past and now 5 times a week for 3 years and counting. (Just in case you don't know, I'm helping my mom take care of her 4 grandchildren ages 9, 6, 5 years old and 1 that is just 8 months.

But to have my own, I am not eager because I want to 'enjoy' more or rather, I still want to be selfish because we all know that as soon as we have a kid, everything we have; time, love, energy and money is for our kid. Or perhaps my maternal instincts is all satisfied after taking care 4 kids.

With that said, Jhon too agreed and we had decided to have a baby talk after 1 year of marriage. For the meantime, condoms were our choice of contraceptive.

2-3 months in, as we were fooling around before wearing the 'raincoat'... he 'ter' lah. lol
TMI? We are adults here, right? lol

Yup, we kinda panic but the deed was done.
Weeks later, I got my period.

My reaction:
"Okay, we are back on track!" and I went to Jhon and jokingly said "CONGRATULATIONS! You are NOT a father!" ala The Maury Show with a grin on my face.

His reaction:
He smiled and immediately after that, utter disappointment crossed his face. He tried to conceal it but it was obvious.

I immediately rushed, hugging him and told him I was sorry because there and then, I knew.
He wanted a baby and I was a complete asshole. It turned out he didn't realized that he truly wanted one until that incident.

Yes, on the surface, it may look like I agree to have a baby only because Jhon wants one (I can never forget the look on his face) but deep inside, who does not want a bundle of joy of their own?

As much as I have no regrets getting married at such an age but 1 thought that recently came into my mind that did me.

As I get older and may eventually have children, I may not live long enough to be a grandparent. Of course, assuming I live a long and healthy life right? But who knows? At this point, I still have 'time' because even if my future kid have a kid at in his/her 30's like me, I am probably be in my 60's. Again, assuming I am still healthy. Thinking I may not be a grandparent actually saddens me more. Weird right?

So ever since then, no raincoat was worn and the fate is truly in God's hands. If we are meant to have a baby, it WILL happen and if not, we will just enjoy the ride. Sure, chances are slimmer due to our ages and I have not gotten my vajayjay checked before. My sister was 35 years old when she got pregnant and I know people who are in their mid 20's who are still trying.

So.... yea... InsyaAllah.

Bonding Time with My Best Buddy

You know that feeling of wanting to go out but don't know where especially you don't want to spend any money? Well, that's how I felt and missing my bonding time with Fizah. We could've met during my outing during the Pre-NDP fireworks but Matin has a curfew.

Anyways, I asked her out for an outing that we had not been doing for many years ever since she got married which was trekking or walking at the park! We usually do this once a year mostly at MacRitchie Reservoir and when Jhon came into the picture, he joined too. This year, another person joined us, MATIN! (Disclaimer: Min didn't follow because he had to work)

Since a toddler was in the picture, we definitely can't go crazy with our route so I suggested Yishun Park which is a walking distance from Fizah's home.

Clearly, this walk is mostly to 'release' stress just like the good all times, especially with gossips and secrets. We didn't mind Jhon within a ear shot because we both know that I am almost disgustingly very open with him.

I swear the blue attire was not intentional.

Eventually, Jhon took over with the stroller pushing while we chit-chat. He took it willingly and we joked that he should take it as 'practice'.

We took a quick break under the block for Matin's milk time. It took him a while to warm up to us because it's been a while since we spent time together. By the end of the day, he was squealing, shaking his legs, raspberry, did his eyebrows thing among other things.

Snack break.

This boy is too cute!

Yishun park was way too small especially with the parks we were used to so we kept on walking until  Lower Seletar Reservoir.

Which prompted us with an impromptu photoshoot.

The faces you make to make a kid laugh. But as usual, it's the mommy who laughed more. lol
I remember those days when in school, everyone would question Fizah why does she ALWAYS laugh. She would always answered it's because of me. But you see, people would NEVER believe but it's impossible for a stuck-up faced me to be so hilarious. haha Plus, my jokes has an acquired taste. lol like real.

Fake phone call.

He loved my 100 plus bottle. Almost difficult to take it back for a drink.
#notanAd

Fizah, we are ooollldd... [and I got cubbier]
But it's okay! As long as we are forever best buddies until berkerut okay?
I hope we can keep taking photos of us doing walkies/trekking until we are really old.

We had dinner and headed home. Everyone had a wonderful time and it was the kind of day we need.
Fizah and I get to chat,
Matin had a day out and
Jhon get to satisfy his fatherly instincts. haha

Cambodia, Day 3: Phnom Penh (The Royal Palace & Silver Pagoda) + Vlog

Just in case you missed:
Cambodia Day 1: Siem Reap (Tonie Sap Lake)
Cambodia Day 2.1 & Day 2.2: Siem Reap (Temple Hopping)

To be honest, our trip to Phnom Penh was more of a stopover to Sihanoukville than a purposeful visit. You see, the trip from Siem Reap to Sihanoukville is up to 6 hours so to pace ourselves, we spent 1 night in Phnom Penh. We took about  4 hour bus ride  with Giant Ibis with no guide but we were guided to the bus interchange from the hotel to make sure we are safe and on our merry way.

There were about 3 stops along the way which I really didn't take note the name of the pit stops. We only went out to stretch our legs. We were not hungry mainly because snacks provided by Giant Ibis was filling enough for us.

It was a smooth ride where we were entertained by the outside surroundings, movie and a toddler on board. Before we knew it, we had reached Phnom Penh, greeted by Ms Sreyneang and then headed for lunch! Just a 1 minute walk away, we were at Titanic Restaurant. (I know! the name! lol)

This restaurant was along side Tonie Sap River. Yes, the same one that was connected to Tonie Sap Lake that we visited on Day 1. Food was absolutely delicious!

After lunch, we headed to the royal palace. The place was huge and beautiful. It's design was recognizably Khmer but can't help to remind us of Thailand.

We didn't get to visit every building there because obviously there are limits and privacy. Even when we did managed to enter them, no photography and videography was allowed. It was truly a shame because the interior was absolutely jaw dropping.

The throne hall was beyond amazing. I mean, who can not stand in awe with gold sculptures, silver décor and such? The throne hall is still being used for official acts, diplomatic meetings and religious events (eg Royal Weddings).

Chanchhaya Pavilion is the most exposed building from the outside of the royal palace. It is because of this, the king does make his speeches and/or witness parades in the streets of Phnom Penh.

We get to visit their little quaint museum which traditional Khmer clothes and artifacts. The only complain we had was the place had barely any ventilation and the place was hot like an oven!

Each color represent a certain position.

These are their royal outfits and just like the Malay community, Cambodians get to wear such outfits on their wedding day to represent the "King and Queen" of the day!

Creepy mannequins.

One of the interiors of the Pagoda has a long mural called the Ramayana Frescoes. The mural is now all weathered down but fret now, restoration is under process.

Yes, we also get to visit the infamous Silver Pagoda. Yet again, unfortunately, no photography & videography allowed but inside, it was home of the emerald Buddha, a life-sized diamond encrusted Buddha and gifts given to the royalty collected over the years which are mostly silver and gold. Not only that, the floor was completely covered by silver (not the color but material) tiles; 5,000 of it! Of course due to the visitors, they had to cover it with carpeting to protect it from wear and tear but we do get to see it at the sides.

This area also holds a few stupas which has the ashes of the royalties.

After the oohs and ahhs, we took a short trip to Naga Casino but not before passing by the Victory Monument and Independence Monument.

Casinos are not our thing so we just went in, look around, used their toilet and we left. haha

One thing we can't wait to visit was our hotel, the Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel. It was a newly constructed 5 star hotel and after all the traveling and walking under the hot sun, we can't wait to rest for a while. This hotel room was definitely the best among the ones we stayed in Cambodia. We wished we can stay longer! The room was so spacious, we could do a run to and fro for exercise.

Okay, after this, there was shortage of photos. I don't know, Jhon was probably tired and had no mood. Anyways, we rest for about 1-2 ours before meeting Ms Sreyneang again for dinner. I didn't catch the name of the restaurant but unfortunately, in terms of food, it was not delicious and satisfying at all.

As we travelled back and forth, we got to experience Phnom Penh's traffic and night life. We are morning people so you will never see us 'enjoying' the night life lah. We just can't wait to hop into the warm bath tub and enjoy our huge room.

Here's our vlog for the day. It has definitely more footage than the photos posted here.
Hope you guys, enjoy!
