The Wedding at Lagun Sari

It is my first wedding visit held in Lagun Sari. It was Wati's sister's wedding.

Jhon and I supposed to meet with Fizah at 1:30pm but she was late so we headed in first.

When we arrived, the bride and groom was already up in their seats and they looked wonderful in their red outfits. Look at the ceiling! Chandeliers! I am a sucker for them and it's all over the ceiling.

The wedding deco was lovely although I thought the place was a little cramped. Just a little, it's not THAT troublesome to maneuver. Food was delicious with a wide variety of dishes. We were spoilt for choice.

As soon as we finished with our lunch, Fizah arrived. Wati and husband even joined us to chit-chat.

We stayed a while longer, until the bride and groom had an outfit change and for cake cutting.
Look at Wati's cute baby girl, all grown up.

BLUEK!!

Congrats to Kak Wahimahwati and husband!

Why I Dislike Hugging Women

I love hugs but since I am socially awkward, I always find myself making hugs even more awkward for me.

Reasons to not hug guys in general is easy. I can just say I draw a line on how and who I hug. Now, girls in general love hugging each other but I always find it awkward!

Why I find it awkward? It's the boobs!
[Drew on paint. Nice or not? lol]

Hugging with other women always bothers me, even if it's my mom or sis. I always think, how to we deal with the boobs when we hug?

Should we do the Jigsaw Puzzle? Linking boobs while hugging to feel a more fitted hug? What if the other lady does not realize you are attempting it? Would it mean more maneuvering to fit? What if one has smaller boobs?

Or do we have our boobs squish together which most ladies do I suppose. But it's just awkward having my boobs squishing to another pair of boobs! What if the lady has thick padding? I've experienced this before and it was uncomfortable for me. Although kudos for her being confident with her thick padding lol.

That is why, most of my life, I hug like this

It has never fails me but some had told me that my hugs always looked stiff.
I can't blame them since all I could think of what do to and how to position my boobs. =P

Newborn Baby

Jhon and I visited Fizah's house for Hari Raya and at the same time, to check out their new addition to the family, Zafrul Affan. He is Fizah's nephew, born on the first of hari raya.

Zafrul was exactly 2 weeks old when we took his picture. It was 'scary' for us because he is so so fragile and we can't move him as much as we want to because we don't want to make him feel uncomfortable. We just want to attempt taking less cliche baby photos.

Another challenge was no flash was allow because he is still a baby and it would be too harsh for his eyes. We ended up taking photos in Fizah's room for ample amount of natural light.

Congratulations to Fizah's sis, Fazilah to the new addition to the family!

The Day The Sky High Fived

I was in my work service bus heading home and as I looked up, to my surprise, I saw this!

It immediately brighten up my tired day and naturally, whipped out my camera phone and snapped a shot.

Despite the fact that the pinkie and thumb is not fully formed, I love that every part of the hand is spot on. I feel so lucky and happy to spot this and in just a few minutes, the clouds merged.

I may have not witnessed double rainbows but I don't anyone experienced the sky giving them a high five! hehe

Create Your Own Creative Facebook Cover

As much as most love to hate the Facebook timeline, it is here to stay so we might as well get use to it and have fun with it.

We have seen it all, all the creative covers which made the timeline tolerable.

Recently, I had a mini photo shoot in my traditional outfit for fun, found a favorite and wanted to put it up as my Facebook profile.

Unfortunately, background was quite a spoiler because the picture was a candid and random shot.

I decided to photoshop myself onto a black and white background.

Edit, edit, edit...

And used http://www.trickedouttimeline.com/ so make the necessary adjustments to make it fit perfectly.

It took me a while but nothing an amateur can't do.

After a while, TA DA!

Perhaps not superbly creative but for a first timer, I think it's great =P

Some of my friends liked it too because I managed to garner quite a number of likes.

Give it a try!  http://www.trickedouttimeline.com/ really helped with the finishing touches.

p/s: not an ad!

Hari Raya 2012 – Week 2

For the second weekend of Hari Raya, I asked my mom if we were going to my maternal grandpa’s house. It’s already bad enough we only visit him once a year and we didn’t on the first day of Shawal.

Before heading to grandpa’s house, we headed to my SIL’s mom’s house. We sat around for a while, ate yummy Mee Kuay Teow Goreng and waited for my brother and family to get ready.

[Pictures are not at it's optimum on that day =S]

The kids were well-behaved although Shibly was upset I exploded his car in Need for Speed on the iPad. =P

Sis said she would join us to the second house for some unforeseen circumstances, she couldn’t make it.

Abg drove us to Yew Tee and there, we saw the severity of grandpa’s condition (he has heart problems, diabetes and bone cancer) When we arrived, he just finished pooping and was calling out for my nephew to help him.

When he came out, he was in a wheel chair and both of his legs were in horrid condition. All because he hurt himself while trying to clip his toe some time ago and didn’t tell anyone about it. Since hehas diabetes, the infection simply spread to his calves.

We chatted for a few hours, mostly asking him about his well-being and etc.

Family pic! I am so glad Mak asked Jhon to follow because if not, no personal photographer. Lol

We headed home before night fall, a few minutes after Syihab woke up from his nap cranky.

By the time we reached home, I made a quick change and went out for a quick dinner date while Mak laid some guilt trip to Sis for not following because grandpa was looking for her. =P

Too bad we didn’t get to see my paternal Chinese grandma. She is senile and partially blind and it was only advisable to visit her with dad. Why we didn’t go? Because of reasons.

Anyways, it was a good day. =)

Garbage live in Singapore 2012

‘Special’, ‘#1 Crush’, ‘Queer’, ‘I’m only happy when it rains’ are just some of the popular songs sung by the 80’s grunge band, Garbage. After 16 years, they have come to Singapore once again for their long awaited performance with a new album, “Not your kind of people”

The concert was held at Fort Canning Park and it rained for a while in the evening making me nervous because it’s the only time I am not happy when it rains, during an outdoor concert. #notpunny?

Luckily, it was just a passing rain and simply cooled down the atmosphere for the concert.

Jhon and I managed to get a great spot off to the left of the park where it is less crowded with less aroma of beer and cigarette smoke.

The band started late (ticket shows 7.45pm) which is quite normal for a concert goer like me. Artists NEVER start on time.

But was it worth the wait? I would say yes although I was disappointed with the poor lighting and lack of effort in stage setup. Sound system okay but perhaps I was off to the left so I didn’t get the optimum sound coverage.

Shirley was hot as always and the band was wonderful. They really have not changed much, not even rusty.

Garbage did played some songs from their new album. They tried incorporating a hint of other genres into the songs perhaps to ‘keep it up to date’ but I wished they stuck to their original genre. Will Grunge relive its status again? We shall see.

Listening to their old songs really brought us back to our teenage days and I am sure it did the same with fellow audiences since most of them ranges in the age of mid 20s and above.

Was it a memorable concert? Not as much as I expected it to be but then again, I did expect a lot from them. Garbage leh… =p

Anyways, it was a great concert and I am glad that I didn’t give it a miss.
