Charming The Bus Drivers

Is it that wrong to work a little charm while waving for the bus so that the driver stops right in front of me?

I am not talking about flirting or flaunting my sexy legs out.

I think THAT would be wrong. Haha

In Singapore, there is always a mini war going on to board public transportation. The shoving and pushing, you will surprise how fast and agile an old auntie can be just for a seat.

I won’t deny it would be wonderful to have the first pickings of seats but to avoid all that chaos and embarrassment; I had developed a method over the years.

And VOILA!! Bus strategically stops in a way that the door is right in front of me. As I board the bus, I mentally go “hmph!” to the kiasu people struggling to board first and smile at the driver. [Must show appreciation okay?]

Remember that everything has to be done subtly and naturally.

This method has worked 89% of the time on exceptions that
  •   There is a an elderly
  • Auntie with tons of bags from the market
  • Driver is distracted by traffic or bus full of passengers
  • Driver is grumpy

 Other than that, success! Hehe

Perhaps you would think this only favours the ladies but I think it can be applied to men without looking gay. hahaha

Just look try not to look like a pompous fool. If I am a bus driver, I would purposely NOT stop close to the guy who looks like an asshole and thinks he is all “that” just out of irrelevant spite.

I know it’s sneaky but hey, I am sharing tactics here!

Hahahaha I can imagine everyone acting so pleasant looking just for the bus driver’s attention at the same time.

The Art of Picking Up Women With Chili Sauce

Ahh... the art of picking up the ladies, I am sure men have their strategies.

I am hardly the one who gets picked up by guys because I am pretty good at my stuck up face. Heck, a guy ever said I have a murderous look.

But there are always a few that would caught me off guard and try to do their ‘thang but I got to admit, I am somewhat amused on this strategy.

It was 7.20am and I was at Toa Payoh waiting for late Fizah. I was getting hungry so I decided to have my breakfast at McDonalds first because I was thinking, why torture myself with hunger pangs for someone’s tardiness? *stares at Fizah* =p

By the way, the reason we were at Toa Payoh so early in the morning during the holidays because we were going trekking at MacRitchie Reservoir.

Going straight to the point, I order my sausage egg muffin meal, noticed a group of malay boys who were getting rowdy and eyeing on me. I did what I always do, ignore and after 10minutes of what sounds like drunkard and forced laughter, they stopped.

Until Fizah came when I pretended to be pissed with her, smiled and accidentally made eye contact with one of the Malay boys.

To my regret, they started their noise laughter again.

We just ignored them and just talked as Fizah started her breakfast.

As I was just complaining to Fizah about how irritating those boys were, they stood up and left not before one of them stopped and placed something on our table.

I can’t see what it was because it was covered by Fizah’s bag, I thought it was a hash brown or something [yes, ever got free onion rings with this stuck up face okay? Lol] but it was this.

Mobile phone number neatly written out of chilli sauce.

Fizah and I just stared at each other and laughed. I would like to think that they gave it to Fizah since I am supposed to be the Chinese girl but I am not that curious enough to ask them haha.

Whatever it is, I took a picture to blog about it and threw it away.

All I can say is, thanks for the compliment and a story boys. =D

When East Meets West: Spagetti Goreng

Might sound like a culinary masterpiece but it is created by pure laziness.

My mom wants to cook Malay-styled Mee Goreng but we don't have the right type of noodles at home. We could blame Chinese New Year for having most shops closed but it would be wrong because there is one minimart a few blocks away that is opened.

Yes, we are simply lazy and the only type of noodles we have is Spagetti.

And that was how Spagetti Goreng was born.

It tastes suprisingly similar to Bolognise only spicier, without the sour tomato flavour and it is delicious!!
Yummeh!

Wati & Adi's Wedding Event

After the solemnisation, a quick outfit change for the official wedding event.

The part of the event that almost didn't went through due to Adi's jitters was the arrival of the groom to the bride. It is a standard act but because it was a combined wedding, couples usually opt it out. Luckily I managed to convinced Adi as it is one of the most exciting part of the wedding.

We came together but Wati had a 10 minute head start before Adi came in and naturally stopped by "gantries"

Another round of phototaking and lunch. It was awkward for me because I get to share the table along with the bestman with Wati & Adi. Where was Jhon at that time? He went home to take a dump!!
He even took his time to take a shower! -_- Surprisingly, he did all that in less than 1 hour. haha

After lunch, off for the last outfit of the day which I absolutely love!

Inul, a special guest singer with an awesome band. They play new and old songs that caters for all ages and they play wonderfully. You should have seen the guitar strumming away on the "Hotel Carlifornia" solo.

Cake Cutting!

Congratulations Wati & Adi!!
May you have everlasting love & marriage.

"Leaving on a Jetplane"

Well, the right words would be "Left on Jetstar"

My love, Jhon has left to his hometown in Philippines and nope, for the 1259th time, I did not follow him because he and his family agreed that I shouldn't come until his construction of 3 storey bungalow house is completed.

Jhon will be back only on 12 February 2011 which is 2 weeks from now!!! =(

I got to admit although there were lonely moments like when we would usually go to work and lunch together and that he will always come over to my table to disturb me or suprise me with a hot cup of milo. *loved*

But after several times going through this, it is not that bad. I just miss his companionship the most because I have no one to gossip with. hehe

Until then, online chatting will do. *grins*
