Want to borrow money?

That was what the caller asked. “Want to borrow money?”

2 days ago, I received a call from a private number and for no apparent reason; I decided to pass the call to Jhon to answer it for me.

Jhon told me it was a Chinese male caller and he asked if we wanted to borrow money. Of course Jhon said no and the guy said okay and hung up. This guy is surely a loan shark right? Who makes random calls and ask want to borrow money or not? -_-

For cases like these, it would seem hilarious or wacky but I imagined what if he got the ‘right’ caller? The person would say yes and there goes the deal with the devil.

Welcoming December

I am not the type who counts down to the next year. For the first time in my life, I am.

Jhon and I have so many plans next year; from personal goals to planning more outings. This also means more blog posts unlike the past months. *guilty*

As Jhon and I discussed about 2013, I suddenly realized. What if the end of the world is really 21.12.2012?? =( It would be a real sad ending to my life after all I have been through and I hope, when humanity is rebuilt, someone would make a movie out of it. lol

Anyways, I genuinely cannot wait till the end of the 2012 because that’s where a new journey and rollercoaster begins.

31 days to go! Weee!

Why I Dislike Hugging Women

I love hugs but since I am socially awkward, I always find myself making hugs even more awkward for me.

Reasons to not hug guys in general is easy. I can just say I draw a line on how and who I hug. Now, girls in general love hugging each other but I always find it awkward!

Why I find it awkward? It's the boobs!
[Drew on paint. Nice or not? lol]

Hugging with other women always bothers me, even if it's my mom or sis. I always think, how to we deal with the boobs when we hug?

Should we do the Jigsaw Puzzle? Linking boobs while hugging to feel a more fitted hug? What if the other lady does not realize you are attempting it? Would it mean more maneuvering to fit? What if one has smaller boobs?

Or do we have our boobs squish together which most ladies do I suppose. But it's just awkward having my boobs squishing to another pair of boobs! What if the lady has thick padding? I've experienced this before and it was uncomfortable for me. Although kudos for her being confident with her thick padding lol.

That is why, most of my life, I hug like this

It has never fails me but some had told me that my hugs always looked stiff.
I can't blame them since all I could think of what do to and how to position my boobs. =P

The Day The Sky High Fived

I was in my work service bus heading home and as I looked up, to my surprise, I saw this!

It immediately brighten up my tired day and naturally, whipped out my camera phone and snapped a shot.

Despite the fact that the pinkie and thumb is not fully formed, I love that every part of the hand is spot on. I feel so lucky and happy to spot this and in just a few minutes, the clouds merged.

I may have not witnessed double rainbows but I don't anyone experienced the sky giving them a high five! hehe

Create Your Own Creative Facebook Cover

As much as most love to hate the Facebook timeline, it is here to stay so we might as well get use to it and have fun with it.

We have seen it all, all the creative covers which made the timeline tolerable.

Recently, I had a mini photo shoot in my traditional outfit for fun, found a favorite and wanted to put it up as my Facebook profile.

Unfortunately, background was quite a spoiler because the picture was a candid and random shot.

I decided to photoshop myself onto a black and white background.

Edit, edit, edit...

And used http://www.trickedouttimeline.com/ so make the necessary adjustments to make it fit perfectly.

It took me a while but nothing an amateur can't do.

After a while, TA DA!

Perhaps not superbly creative but for a first timer, I think it's great =P

Some of my friends liked it too because I managed to garner quite a number of likes.

Give it a try!  http://www.trickedouttimeline.com/ really helped with the finishing touches.

p/s: not an ad!

Face-kini: Bikini for your Face?

Apparently there is a new trend at the beaches of China (yes, only in China… or Japan lol) and it is called the Face-kini which is a bikini for the face.

[picture and info from Yahoo!News]

Firstly, upon looking at the pictures, I would greatly appreciate it if they use that same effort to cover their bodies instead of their face. =X

Secondly, these masks remind me nothing but NACHO LIBRE the movie or Luchador also known as Mexican wrestlers which is not that farfetched if you want to compare bodies too. =P

Hey, I do get it; they don’t want to tan their face. I am one of those people who try to avoid getting tanned too. I hate getting my face tanned and my makeup does not match my skin colour anymore. tsk!

Perhaps they saw this picture of the man who had only 1 side of his face exposed to constant rays of the sun and they got phobic of the sun. haha

Whatever it is, I don’t see this trend spreading to other countries, even if someone ever buys the face-kinis, they probably would use it to be part of a nacho libre costume. Tee hee!

Fasting

It’s been 14 days since all fellow Muslims started to fast on Ramadhan. We are half way through!

So far, I have not missed any days yet but I am due for my ‘red tide’ soon. It sucks when my schedule is never on the dot. It comes and goes as it pleases. The problem is it is all thunder but no rain. Get what I mean?

Anyways, I am not sure about others but lately my days have been challenging. I don’t know whether it was the PMS or what but suddenly I am surrounded by annoying people!

So far, I have not exploded yet but it’s hard to take a deep breath with gritted teeth and feel that searing heat in my chest.

Other than that, Ramadhan has been smooth. Good home cooked food, plenty of rest and family bonding. There was even a time I applied leave from work just to take a break from the office and help mom around the house by playing with the 3 boys at home.

If you guys are curious about Jhon on whether he is fasting or not, well, he has been fasting half a day since day one. So technically, he has fasted for 7 days now which is the longest he ever tried fasting. Must train you know? =P It will nice to know if he accomplishes the entire Ramadhan even it’s just half a day.

I had never forced him and he did it out of his own willingness and sincerity which makes it much more special. At least I can see he is making an effort and the future of us is clear.

That is pretty much it. I just hope the days go smoothly.

Abrupt end.

Certified First Aider

Guess who is a certified first aider now?

Not me but Jhon!

He has been going to classes for the past few weeks, took a test on Wednesday and passed with flying colors.

I am proud of him because he has to ‘make out’ with a dummy. (Jhon has an irrational fear of mannequins). He survived although it does not mean he has overcome his fear. I don’t blame him though, some mannequins are so freaking scary that sometimes it creeps ME out.

Now, whenever someone is injured, he can be a hero. He is pretty cocky (in a joking manner) too. Whenever I hurt myself (which happens a lot) he will go with his ‘superhero’ voice “I CAN HELP YOU! I AM A CERTIFIED FIRST AIDER!!” *flaunts card*

Haha I just let him bask in his achievement. Congratulations Jhon! Hopefully, your first experience is not with a saggy auntie or uncle with no teeth! =P

Failed Karate Kid

The scene was ideal. It was a bright morning at Desaru beach, waves clashing as the strong wind blew that carries a hint of small of salt in the air. It was serene and relaxing.

I was walking at the coastline, admiring the view and atmosphere and I came across a small tree stump. The first thing that came to my mind was ‘Karate Kid’.

You know what I am talking about, THE Pose. I ran to the stump, called out for Jhon to take a picture of me doing the epic pose.

This is what I got. What look like me dancing is actually me falling down as I struggle to balance on that tiny stump. I got to admit, it’s still a good shot but every time I think of the back story of this, all I want to do is laugh.

Of course, I managed to get a ‘good’ shot of what in my head how it’s supposed to look like.

To be honest, I still like my ‘dancing’ photo.

Cute Japanese Biscuits

One of the big bosses just came back from his vacation in Japan and he bought biscuts for everyone.

I find them so cute!

Technically, it was just the wrapping but it simply works. Japan, why are you so clever?

Jhon got 1 boy and girl so he took this picture and emailed to me.

Kawaii ne!!

Meeting Van Gogh

Okay, obviously I didn't meet Van Gogh since he is dead for many centuries ago and even if he was alive, I don't think our paths will ever cross.

Jhon and I went to the National Musuem for the Dreams and Reality exhibition.

I will post the outing when I go through over 300 pictures. =P

One of the significant painting that was somewhat special to us was the infamous painting, Starry Night at the Rhone by Vincent Van Gogh.

Not only we get to see the painting in real life, it also brought us memories of a little project we did on Van Gogh just for fun.

This is our impressionist artwork of one of his artwork, Starry Night made of eraser dirt.

No words can describe the feeling to be next to such a beautiful painting.

First Lunar Eclipse Experience on 10 Dec 11

There was lunar eclipse (when Earth is in between the Sun and the Moon) last night and I usually don't bother keeping a look out because I usually can't see it. It's always visible somewhere else in the world or it gets too cloudy.

But when Jhon and I went for a spontaneous dinner at a coffeeshop nearby and casually glanced at the beautiful and bright full moon, we noticed that the bottom of the moon seems to be faded off.

That was when I remembered about the lunar eclipse and I immediately jumped and shrieked in excitement. My stomach was growling at that moment and believe me when I said that I never ate and drank so quickly in my life! I even got to sit outside and I stared at the moon as it slowly dissapears.

The reason I was rushing to finish my dinner, was because I wanted to take photos of the eclipse with my digital camera. Anyone who has ever attempted to take a photo of a moon with a camera phone would understand why. *wink*

I called my sis, I called Fizah, I tweeted, I Facebooked. I told everyone about the eclipse.
I was THAT excited.

By the time I reached home, the Moon was already 3/4 covered so I frantically grabbed my Olympus SZ-10 and tripod stand and let Jhon do his 'thang'.

This is the first time any of us experience a lunar eclipse and it was breathtaking.

Do you notice every time we see something so natural and beautiful we suddenly become philosophical?

Anyways, the eclipse officially started at 7.31pm but I suppose it was officially visible at 8.45pm which was the time that we noticed it. Jhon and I stayed for the entire eclipse which visibly ended at 12.30am.

I feel so lucky to experience it and especially with my love ones. I am so happy that Jhon managed to get awesome shots from a digital camera.

The next total lunar eclipse will be October 2014. I hope we can witness it again.

Best Advice Through Song

This song is from the 90s and the lyrics were derived from an essay written in 1997 by Mary Schmich, a columnist with the Chicago Tribune.

And ladies and gentlemen, these advices about life would be one of the best you ever heard.

Are you sure it’s for freee?

I got home yesterday and was eagerly shown a new exercise machine in the living room.

It was a stepping machine; I suppose to mimic stairs climbing. I was exhausted from work but my sis made me try it out. I didn’t complain because part of me wanted to try it out.

It’s like any stepping machine but it has a remote for adjustment of speed and time with cords at the side meant to be pulled for additional exercise on the arms. Oh, and it’s from OSIM.

I only lasted 1-2 minutes before my knees start to burn; a big sign of lacking of exercise but I can definitely see myself using this. Perhaps on the weeks I don’t can’t do my exercise, I can make it up with this.

I later found out (while frantically trying to keep up with the highest speed that my loving sis has set) that it was given to Abang Awil for free by his boss.

The same boss who likes to ask for odd work favours from him so when he said for free with no strings attached, my mom, sis and I unanimously said…

“Free… Sureeeeeee”

Wordless Wednesday: My Retarded Ice-Kacang Snowman

It's True!

I think this is true for if not all, most girls.

Comic is comes from 9gag.com

I've come across it 2 months ago and was also around the same time I lost my soul.... (to 9gag)

Yes, I am hooked! Although it is slowly turned into soft porn with semi  'nekkid' girls but it's okay i guess. Their bodies are hot! Gives me motivation to look good too. =D

I wanted to share a meme comic of Queen's Bohemian Rasphody but it's too big but I will post it here anyways but you got to click to enlarge okay?

It's worth it!
Read it as how you would sing it.

This Ronald McDonald will make you poop in your pants!

This video will keep me away from McDonald’s for awhile and I can NEVER look at the Ronald statue in the eyes again.

I am already afraid of the clown from “IT” and now this.

Show this to all the fatties!! =X

Secrets

Secrets, they are a very powerful thing.

It’s amazing how a secret and pull people closer and at the same time push other people apart.

It can strengthen one’s bond but with a superfluous secret, it can greatly lose one’s trust.

Before & After Picture

Recently, I went to the Singapore Zoological Garderns and while exploring the place, I took a picture at the same exact spot as I had previously taken years ago.
It was sort of a personal joke between Fizah and I so I thought I could take it to another level.

The cool thing was, I didn't realized that it was taken on the exact same month, 4 years ago!

One was taken via a handphone camera and one is a semi pro camera.
No prizes for guessing which is which right.

Can someone explain to me how come I look younger and fresher compared to 4 years ago? Perhaps it was just the quality of the photo but can I be in denial? So, horray for looking better!

Oh yeah, I also happen to pose almost exactly the same too! hehehe

Okay, why is taking a picture with a toad is such a big deal? It was because at that time, I told Fizah I MUST take photo with it. My reason was since I loathe anything slimy, toads included, this is probably the only time I will take a picture this close to a toad (even though it was fake)

sighs, I know, it was lame but it comes with the zzanyy package.

Spontaneity With Cable Cars

It was just a normal outing with Fizah and Jhon on a weekend. We also went to Mountbatten Mount Faber because Jhon wanted to join a bowling club and how can one not go to Vivo City while at Mount Faber right?

But first, we had our dinner at the coffeeshop at the nearest bus interchange. It has a wonderful view of the cable cars and I immediately asked them "Wanna take a cable car ride??"

Fizah excitedly answered yes because she has never taken a cable ride before! As for Jhon, he didn't mind at all. He has already rode it with me so he was a little "ya-ya papaya" with Fizah. haha

Well, due to the spontaneity, we didn't have a camera in hand so we had to use our camera phones so that explains the poor quality pictures. =P

Fizah was equally excited and scared because of the height but it was all good. It was a first for me and Jhon to take a cable car ride at night and it was really nice and cooling.

We just roamed around Sentosa for less than 2 hours and went back taking the cable car again.  I know it sounds silly but that is the point of being spontaneous right? You do it for no apparent reason with no conclusion.

We went home after that. I love being spontaneous!
