Souvenirs From Bali

Bali was great and will blog on the days spent but first, I want to share goodies that we have got.

These were gotten on the 2nd day; a compilation of goodies by the three of us.

The ladies in my family love the fans mainly because of the batik design.

As per normal, most items that I bought is for the family and I am proud to say that I bought more than I did when I went to Bangkok (Bought 1 sling bag in a shopper's paradise)

The weird thing is I bought the most random things.

I bought peanuts and coffee.

Not just any peanuts but Capri peanuts which was super delicious and Ginseng Coffee. It was weird because I don't like Gingseng and coffee but these two together, fuwar! I love!

The Ginseng smell is not overwhelming and you don't smell it after a few sips and the coffee does not taste bitter at all.

Another set of souvenirs that I got from Bali are these.

On both of my legs!! I don't know what bit me, sand fly or whatever devil bug but all I know it was itchily-painful!! I was so gross that everyone freaked out in horror okay? =(

Luckily Jhon helped me by massaging the spots with ointment so now it's not that gross. It's mild brown with tolerable random itching.

Sighs, Bali oh Bali, you are too generous with your "souvenirs"

Stumbled Like A Giraffe On Ice

I bet I pretty much look like the giraffe in the picture. I sprained my right foot and failed while trying to stabilize myself with my left leg.

Struggling with left, right, left, right, left, right foot, ungracefully and at a semi-crowded coffee shop.

At least I didn’t fall down but I left the area with a hurt ankle and ego.

As soon as I reached home, I took a shower, applied ointment on my right ankle and strapped on my ankle support.

Unfortunately, the next day, my left ankle started to hurt too. Imagine trying to walk on 2 sprained ankles. Not fun at all.

On a better note, at least it is not swollen. I suppose it is just the nerves.

And no, I was not wearing heels. I am the kind of person who can sprain my ankle while barefooted.

Uhuh =(

The Exploding 'Keropok Lekor'

I kid you not! While Jhon was helping to fry them, a few cracked and exploded, not in a way that its into small pieces but it definitely burst, enough to splatter hot oil on us.

Quick Info
Keropok Lekor is a famously known Malaysian snack that I absolutely love and mom bought a couple packets of frozen Keropok Lekor at Sheng Siong,Singapore.

I don't know exactly why it burst that way, maybe because it was still semi frozen inside what I know was it an enough pop to spurt hot oil on the both of us.

Jhon was hit mainly on his feet that resulted in mild redness. As for me, I was hit on my right thigh, left forearm and face! I freaked out when I felt heat on my face so I ran to the toilet to wash off the oil, fearing I might have a scar and vaguely wipe off the oil on other areas.

After calming down from , I still felt searing pain on my forearm and I realized that it was worst than I thought.

I quickly applied some medicine for burnt wounds and hope for the best.

I have wonderful splash design on my forearm now.

It was okay for 2 days but since I didn't apply cream on the 2nd day, the wound start to bubble. =(

I was anal retentive on how I place my arm and always freak out when Jhon almost hit it, fearing I might pop the bubble because I know it will hurt more than ever.

It has been 6 days since it happened, the bubble has subsided on its own (without popping!) but still have the splattered scar which is starting to itch.

I am taking good care of it to avoid a scar but if you ask me if it was worth it..

YES! 'Keropok Lekor' is da bomb!! ^_^

Accident Prone Me

So far, it is nothing serious, not like I broke an arm or have wound that needed stiches but I have been accident prone more than usual for the past month.

Thus far, I managed to...
  • punched myself in the face twice
  • hit my fingers countless of times
  • banged my forearm twice, one left a wounded gash
  • banged my right cheek on the corner of my side table; slightly swollen
  • stub my toe and nail is semi peeled off
  • twisted my knees
  • get accidentally (I hope) hitted in the face by Jhon
and other random bumps on my body.

I don't know why am I so accident prone even if I am being careful.

I just hope that one day it won't get worst and lead me into crutches!

A Wedding, A Movie and A Bruise

Went to Hidayah's wedding today who happens to be my ex-pri-sec-ite mate so imagine how big of a reunion it was.

I look old here... why? =(

They have a caricature of themselves at the guestbook table and i asked Jhon to do the writing because he has better handwriting than me. =P i simply order lovingly tell him where and what to write.

For her first outfit, she donned the traditional Javanese costume and her second would be the Hindi costume. [i didnt stay over till late so i saw it via our people's picture]

Wedding Cupcake; still the 'in thing' for the convinience of giving it away to guests.

The obligatory picture with the bride; must have evidence we came!! =P

With the hubby

Fizah, Serina and [omg! i forgot her name]. Secondary school mates

More secondary school mates

The ever so sweet Wati with akward posing me -_-

Saw bunch of primary school mates too but didnt approach them [they also didnt approach me mah!] but i did acknowledged most of them with an enthusiastic wave.

Me with hot and cranky Jhon.

When the bride and groom was heading to the groom's side, Jhon and I left while the rest followed the couple. He was just too hot, cranky and bored at the wedding but the minute we left, he was so happy.

We went to Century Square to catch Paranormal Activity which totally sucked anyways. It was expected because a movie with so much hype and adverts, is not that great. Thats why it needs to be hyped up right? But they still got the last laugh because they made millions by now and are laughing to the bank.

But seriously, for a scardey cat like me, the movie is not THAT scary. I recommend all to just rent/borrow the DVD and fast forward to the last 10 minutes of the movie because thats the only part that is truly exciting.

After the movie, did abit of a walk-around and went to my house for a quick dinner.

While cooking, Jhon gave me a massive shock that with my awesome reflexes, shouted "OH MAK LU KULOP!", turned around and hit him in the chest in 2 seconds. His response was blocking my hit but his watch hit my wrist.

-_-

So dramatic.. and see what i got!

Even the pillow is laughing at me...

What if i was holding a knife? I could've killed him!!
