Alive Museum at Suntec City Part 1

So on our 7yr 2mth anniversary, Jhon and I visited the Alive Museum at Suntec City. Not to be confused with the Trickeye Museum at Resorts World Sentosa. Actually, both are from Korea and charge at the same prices of $25 for adults and $20 for children although Trickeye has a senior ticketing price and it's tickets are an all day pass but who would go in and out throughout the day?
Added note: Both have online discounts. Alive at 20% off, Trickeye at 10% off.

Basing on photos, I think Trickeye has better lighting but other than that, I think their displays are equally fun and interesting. Jhon and I are contemplating on whether we visit Trickeye or just be satisfied with 1 illusion entertainment museum. =P

But first...

Anyways, photo overloading time!!!

Here's a video of Van Gogh where his eyes would follow wherever you go, blowing Marilyn Monroe's dress and 3D Mona Lisa.

I was surprised Jhon wanted to do this shot.

Yey! I'm a mermaid. Little Mermaid has always been my favorite movie because of their songs. Sebastian introduced me to reggae music. haha

Too happy.

Better but blocked the dragon. lol

Some displays I felt are better as it is. (without anyone posing)

One of our favorites. Not because it's cool but also plays awesome 90s music.

I didn't do this one because I have poor upper body and arm strength. BOOO!

Sorry Jhon.

Hey, wait a minute!

Gross!

It's suppose to look like I am trying to cover the holes but instead it looks like I'm peeing.

Another horrible acting. Seriously, I had too much fun and was too happy that I had difficulty acting unhappy.

I really love this shot. Artsy konon.
Even though I was well aware it was just an illusion with mirrors but I was still scared.

Oh no!!

B-boy at the museum.

End of Part 1!

DIY Duit Sampul

Duit Sampul which means money envelope during Hari Raya is always a must. Honestly, speaking, I don't really give much thought on it's design because 1) I just don't for no reason 2) Mom always has plentiful. So mostly, I used whatever she has bought.

But if you ask me, I prefer the simpler or classy types of designs and nowadays, it can be hard to find and not to mention, mahal. So I figured, I would make them instead.

I always have plenty of wrapping paper with me (because I have an obsession of wrapping gifts although I am sub-par) so I just grabbed the left overs, looked up in YouTube for a decent and simple origami envelope instructions and voila!

By the way, the wrappers I usually get sells 3 sheets for $1 and some designs are pretty decent. With half a sheet, I managed to get 9 envelopes. It took me a while to get the right size for my own liking but other than that, it was easy-peasy man! You don't even need glue. I had always preferred to have small money envelopes because I like to give money discreetly. It fits snugly in my palm for that perfect salam and pass money maneuver like discreet tipping.

You can use square sized paper or rectangle. It depends the shape you want. I did mine slightly rectangular and when folded, its about 10cm x 4cm. Fold the money in 4 and slot it in.

Here's the video I referred from.

Water on Concrete

I was thinking of letting this blog take a breather from wedding stuff and syiok sendiri photos. It's the March holidays for the kids and had Syihab all for ourselves while his brother is at his other grandma's house.

Syihab requested plenty of games and fun from him. I really don't mind because I am a kid at heart. One point of the day, we watered the plants and I decided to draw along the corridor. I just thought of sharing the pictures.

Syihab knows how to doodle people but he had difficulty drawing while spraying. That didn't frustrate him but he was bossy, telling me what to draw. Circle, eyes, nose, "boody" etc. =P Budak muka bacin nie.

I eventually drew a giant one and he helped me with the hair. hehe

I find water painting on concrete fun because unlike chalk, there is no need for clean up. Just let it evaporate. hehe

Playing with Food

Do not play with your food!!

Does that sound familiar? I like to pick and play with my food but as I grew up, playing with my food comes to another level.

Curtains made out of Pringles chips was my biggest project. [read here] Luckily, after a while, my mom kinda gave up nagging at me and learned to appreciate the art behind it.

I still randomly play with my food once in a while until there was a true motivation behind it.

Recently, ChurpSg released a contest based on the new movie Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2. I don't about you guys but I love the first movie. Come on, making food out of water? How can you not love it? Plus, the characters were so adorable and funny! I have to get my hands on those movie tickets and maybe movie premiums (top 10 gets the premiums)

I started with 'duku langsat' snake.

I also looked up in the internet for ideas. I found and attempted Banadog and Apowl.

Jhon attempted owl with the 'duku langsat'

I had cooked 'Daging Kicap Manis dengan kentang' (Sweet soya souce beef with potatoes) for dinner so I thought I shall attempt art with it too. It's a gorilla complete with a banana. lol

Play with your food but make sure you eat them so as not to waste them. hehe

Memories in Hard Copy

We are living a generation where most people just love taking photos and thanks to Instagram, this ’hobby’ booms even bigger.

Food, click. Babies, click. Sunrise, click. Flowers, click.

Yes, I am one of those people. I am not as active like most but I do understand taking pictures that may seem its objective insignificant to some. It simply strikes a memory, memory of that moment or of that day. At least that is how I felt or think.

How about photos of outings and events especially taken by a camera? We automatically upload to social media websites such as Facebook and blogs. Gone are the days of a photo album. Once in a blue moon, I would take out my old photo albums with pictures taken long before internet and social media. I would smile or grimaced (depending on which stage of growth I was – everyone has their WTF period).

Nowadays, you need an internet connect and to log in to see photos and I doubt one social media can keep photos worth decades.

That is why; Jhon and I decided to gather all our photos into a photo album. Yes, print and compile 5 years worth of photos and mind you, we had been to MANY outings. Jhon initially wanted to create a scrapbook but it would cost a lot more money and time. When we started the photo album, it was the most fun I ever had.

It was nice to see how we grow physically and mentally as a couple.

Firstly, I had never done couple photo albums before. Secondly, placing thousands of photos was easier and faster compared to an actual scrapbook. Lastly, it was so nice to reminisce that long of a memory with Jhon.

4-5 weekends later, we managed to complete 1 album worth 3-4 years worth of photos.

Sounds like we are almost done but I believe we had even more outings between 4th and 5th year. I can’t wait to bring it up to date and slowly fill the empty pages with new outings.

I strongly encourage everyone to do so too. Start printing and have hard copy pictures of the people, places and outings you’ve been to. Nothing beats a hardcopy memory.

Create Your Own Creative Facebook Cover

As much as most love to hate the Facebook timeline, it is here to stay so we might as well get use to it and have fun with it.

We have seen it all, all the creative covers which made the timeline tolerable.

Recently, I had a mini photo shoot in my traditional outfit for fun, found a favorite and wanted to put it up as my Facebook profile.

Unfortunately, background was quite a spoiler because the picture was a candid and random shot.

I decided to photoshop myself onto a black and white background.

Edit, edit, edit...

And used http://www.trickedouttimeline.com/ so make the necessary adjustments to make it fit perfectly.

It took me a while but nothing an amateur can't do.

After a while, TA DA!

Perhaps not superbly creative but for a first timer, I think it's great =P

Some of my friends liked it too because I managed to garner quite a number of likes.

Give it a try!  http://www.trickedouttimeline.com/ really helped with the finishing touches.

p/s: not an ad!
